Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my 365 blog!

{If you'd like to visit my portrait photography website, click here.}

I'm a mom of 2 kids and have been a photographer for over 4 years. I decided to task myself with doing a 365 {or rather 366} photo project for 2012. I will take a photograph every day, with my "big girl camera". It will mostly be about my life, portrayed artistically. I want to challenge myself creatively and try new things. I'm excited about where this project will take me and I hope you will follow the journey with me!

First Photo Gallery Showing

Between raising a 3-year-old and 1-year-old, I've miraculously had time recently to put together a photography gallery to show my work around the city.  My artwork currently consists of a few photos promoting my maternity and baby portrait sessions as well as a few (Not So) Still Life pieces for sale.  This gallery is now up at 5 Focus (www.5focus.com) in South Lake Union from September 15 through October 31st, so stop by and check it out while you're sampling their Cafe' Mae menu!

These three pictures below are part of the (Not So) Still Life series I have been shooting on the side.  They consist of fruits and vegetables photographed on a very clean, simple white backdrop.  While most photographers work really hard and use extra equipment to prevent camera shake, I am promoting it!  I am creating colorful, abstract images that essentially turn a grouping of mandarin oranges into a flower (or whatever else you may see).  The images are not changed in Photoshop in any way, except for normal dust-spotting and color correction procedures.  Stop by and check them out!   I will also be adding a Featured Gallery section to my website soon, which will allow you to view these images and purchase them directly from the site.

Shown here:  the mandarin oranges, cherry tomatoes, and blueberries.

Finkelstein Wedding 8.23.08

I recently had the opportunity to photograph the Finkelstein wedding at Pickering Barn in Issaquah.  I've been mainly focusing on Portrait photography so this was a treat for me.  If you've ever had the chance to go to a wedding or the Saturday Farmer's Market at Pickering Barn, you'll know what a beautiful setting this is to take photos (both in the barn and outside).

Below, in random order (as I haven't figured out the best way to upload photos into my blog!), are some of my favorites from the big day.  Thanks to the Finkelstein's for giving me the opportunity, and to my niece, Britney, for being my Photo Assistant -- I couldn't have done it without you!!
