Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my 365 blog!

{If you'd like to visit my portrait photography website, click here.}

I'm a mom of 2 kids and have been a photographer for over 4 years. I decided to task myself with doing a 365 {or rather 366} photo project for 2012. I will take a photograph every day, with my "big girl camera". It will mostly be about my life, portrayed artistically. I want to challenge myself creatively and try new things. I'm excited about where this project will take me and I hope you will follow the journey with me!

Twins Update! - Seattle Modern Child Photography

Here's some new photos of my favorite family with two, yes two, sets of twins!  This session marked the older twins' 4th birthday, and their younger sisters were almost 1-year old in these photos.  So, if you're wondering, YES, they {and we - me and my parental support crew} were extremely busy in this 1.5 hour session.  I was literally sweating afterwards, and even a little sore the next day :)

But it was worth it!  Aren't these photos scrumptious?!

Miss Lily - 1 year - Seattle Child Photographer

This is Lily - one of the sweetest 1-year-olds I've had the pleasure of photographing.  You can just tell how sweet and fun she is by looking at the photos below.  I'll post some photos of her big brother soon.

Happy Birthday Lily!!

Emma's 3rd Birthday! - Redmond Child & Family Photographer

This is Emma.  She turned 3 in May (yes, I'm behind in my posts again).  I had the pleasure of photographing her birthday as well as some child and family portraits outside.  I got many more smiles out of her when she didn't have the stress of her birthday party to deal with - that's exactly how Isaac would have been too!

Emma is so full of life - I really had fun photographing her and her family!

Happy Birthday Emma!

Colorful Candid Portrait Session of a Seattle Child

You may remember Rachel.  In her short first year of life, we've met a few times for photo sessions.  This session was to celebrate her first birthday.  We decided to do a combo session- half in my studio, and half at a nearby park.  As you will see  below, we decided to have a summer-inspired theme, incorporate balloons, and use a plain-white background for the studio shots (called high-key so it doesn't end up looking gray).  Rachel didn't disappoint by bringing her stellar personality!  This ended up being one of those shoots where everything just came together.  We were all being silly and she had so much fun.  It shows in the photos.  Besides ending up with beautiful keepsake portraits, we really captured Rachel.  You can just tell who she is, can't you??  I love my job. :)

Happy Birthday Rachel!  I can't wait to see how you'll change in the years to come!

If you'd like to see more of my favorites from this session, please go to my Facebook Page.

April Mini-Sessions

I recently had some mini-sessions to celebrate the opening of my studio.  The studio worked well and I LOVED my new lights!  The families were fantastic and (I think) really had a good time.  This first photo below is one of my favorites.  She's absolutely beautiful.  The boys below were crazy hard to photograph!  We had to pull out the major distractors to get some still shots, and I really love that you can get a sense of their personality through the photograph.

I also found some great settings around the studio for some of the urban and park photos shown below.  Enjoy-

Kellen's 1 Year Old!

This is Kellen.  He just turned one and I've had the pleasure of taking his family's photos since he was in his mama's belly.  He's a sweetheart just like his sister.

This sitting proved to be a little more of a challenge.  I think he sensed something important to his parents was planned that day, since he decided to defy them by skipping his much-needed nap that morning!  We also found out later that he had an ear infection - poor guy.  Regardless, we were happy that we captured some great moments.

Fall 2010 Wrap Up

Well, I lied.  I said I'd have some new posts coming soon (back in September) but to be honest, I'm not a very good blogger.  So I thought I'd try to resurrect this by at least posting some of my absolute favorite photos from the fall, which, I'm happy to say, was the busiest season to date for my business!  Thank you all for your support.

Here goes......and, BTW, if you're a Facebook fan, these will look very familiar to you!
