Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my 365 blog!

{If you'd like to visit my portrait photography website, click here.}

I'm a mom of 2 kids and have been a photographer for over 4 years. I decided to task myself with doing a 365 {or rather 366} photo project for 2012. I will take a photograph every day, with my "big girl camera". It will mostly be about my life, portrayed artistically. I want to challenge myself creatively and try new things. I'm excited about where this project will take me and I hope you will follow the journey with me!

365 Project | Day 335 to 342 | Seattle Portrait Photographer

These were taken from December 1st to December 7th!  Getting close.......

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas (around here).  You'll notice a theme to my photos this week. :)

December 1st - We could hardly wait till the start of the month to break out our holiday village and other decor.

December 2nd - We got the tree!  Every time we get out the ornaments I love looking at all these vintage ones my grandmother made.  There is so much care and detail put into each one - I just love them.

December 3rd - Someone is getting crafty at our house!

December 4th - I recently read a tutorial on taking photos and getting your Christmas lights to "sparkle".  Here is an example for you:  I shot the first photo with the aperture wide open at f2.8- my normal mode of operation.  In the second photo, I closed it way down to f32 and now the lights literally sparkle (no filters involved here).  Pretty cool, huh?

December 5th - I wanted to show off the fantastic fine art prints I've been fulfilling lately.

December 6th - Beautiful Christmas light bokeh from outside.

December 7th - Elf on the Shelf - first sighting!

December 7th #2 - Starflake Fireball looks a little mischievous.......

  1. I love your elf's name-so cute and funny. He does look pretty mischievious in that last shot:) I love the comparison between the lights with the different f-stops. They are both beautiful- I want to capture some twinkle lights now!
