Where's the time gone?

Well, I've fallen off the wagon a little with this blog thing.  I really don't know how people keep up with it all the time - maybe they don't have 2 young kids - or maybe they do and they make time.  Maybe I should just stop using my kids as an excuse.

I always thought I would be this cool, hip Mom that embraced and stayed with the current trends, technology, music, etc.  But honestly, I'm already falling so far behind!  Technology is moving too fast these days!  Does anyone besides me NOT Twitter or check Facebook about 20 times a day?  Not that there's anything wrong with that :).  I was on Facebook all the time last year when I signed up, and that's what I'm talking about.  I couldn't get anything else done.  The kids would go down for a nap, or go to bed at night, and I'd whip out the MacBook and check to see what I missed.  Before I knew it, it was 11 pm and I hadn't really connected with my husband (who was sitting next to me on the couch - in person) or gotten any photo work done.

It seems like people are trying harder and harder to stay as connected as possible as fast as possible.  Where does it end? Won't there just continue to be more and more information to try to keep up with?

I do realize these new technologies are here to stay, and they definitely have some major advantages, both personally and professionally.  As I'm writing this I'm realizing what my push-back is.  Its not the technology itself, but the commitment.  Once I start, do I ever stop?  Is anyone even going to read my posts?  Is it interesting or boring?  How do I come up with new content? What if I can't keep up?  Where does it end??  How do I limit it, stay interesting and up-to-date, and keep a real life and business going?
Another case-in-point:  as I'm trying to post this I hear the water in the bathroom sink running, with both kids hanging out in there.  I go investigate.  Ella and Isaac are soaking wet with their clothes on "taking a shower" in the sink.  Ugh.  I don't have time to even write that my fear is the time commitment!!!

BUT, I guess I'll just try it out and see what happens.....it's all about the adventure anyway, right?

I first photographed this little guy last year when he was 4 months old. He gave me a run for my money this time around! Once toddlers start toddling, its hard to stop them. He was a great subject though; just look at those eyes and facial expressions!

As you may have noticed from my last few blogs, I've added some new backdrops with some texture. What do you think? I'd love to hear comments.....

2nd Ever Boise Kid's Shoot - May 17-19, 2009

After uploading these pictures my cheeks hurt from smiling so hard! How often in a given week or month do you smile that long or hard to do that? I tell you, it needs to happen more often in adulthood.

Anyway, what a great group of kids and families! Robin, again you outdid yourself with all the logistics and opening your home to me. Thank you so much! I hope we can make it happen again this fall.

Thanks to reconnecting with an old (and beautiful and brave) college friend of mine, I had the chance to shoot my very first set of boudoir photos. She initially wanted mostly the 40's Pin Up style (as you will see in 3 of the photos) but we also got creative with some other more contemporary sexy shots. Brienne, you look mah-velous!
